Course overview
Integrate crypto payments end-to-end — QR code generation, transaction monitoring, webhook confirmations, and multi-currency support for BTC, ETH, SOL, and USDC.
Crypto Payment Flow Architecture
Accepting crypto payments in a web app requires: 1. Payment Intent: User selects amount + currency → backend calculates crypto amount at current rate → stores intent with 30-min expiry 2. Payment Address: Generate (or reuse) a deposit address for the currency 3. QR Code: Display BIP21 URI as a QR code — wallet apps scan and pre-fill amount 4. Monitoring: Poll or webhook from your node/gateway to detect incoming transactions 5. Confirmation: Wait for N confirmations (1-6 for ETH/SOL, 1-3 for BTC) before granting access 6. Expiry Handling: Cancel unconfirmed intents after timeout
BIP21 Payment URIs & QR Codes
BIP21 is the standard URI format for Bitcoin payment requests. Ethereum uses a similar EIP-681 format.
Transaction Monitoring & Webhooks
Monitor incoming transactions using blockchain APIs rather than running your own node.
